Holmhead is idealy situated on "Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site" near the most Spectacular Remains, and right on the Hadrian's Wall Trail, surrounded by fields and footpaths, there is a ruined castle and a meadow with a stream with ducks and woodland nearby . Greenhead village has a local bus (hourly ) and the special Hadrian's Wall bus , a church a cafe a good pub, and a golf course all only 1/4 mile away . The next village is Haltwhistle,3 miles. where you will find ... a train station,shops , leisure, centre , swimming pool chemist, post office supermarket, etc. You can order homemade frozen gourmet meals for your freezer, and Pauline and Brian are always on hand for help or advice for visiting atractions, where to eat or days out.
