Arbutus Guest House was originally the Clapham village Vicarage until it was tastefully converted into a guesthouse in 1985. It was built in 1835, and is an excellent example of Georgian architecture. The bedrooms are all well proportioned and the comfortable residents lounge with roaring log fire are a "welcome to the eyes", after a day out walking or just exploring the locality. A full central heating system has recently been installed, and all of the bedrooms have en suite facilities. The beautiful view with Clapham Beck running just outside the house, surrounded by mature trees, and wild birds abound... Situated in the heart of the village, within 250 metres of the local Inn and village shops. We are able to offer Superb home cooked evening meals. We always use fresh local produce whenever possible and we cook the food in the AGA. Our standard meal would consist of four courses followed by coffee and mints. We are not licensed, but guests are welcome to bring there own drinks and we will gladly provide the corkscrew and glasses, (without charge). | ||
