Description: Casa Juana is a charming old Portuguese house, situated in the beautiful ancient town of Tavira on the Eastern Algarve. It has been restored sympathetically and retains its original character while providing comfortable and spacious accomodation. The apartment below is occupied by a small Portugese family of two. It provides accomodation for 4 people and comprises of one bedroom with ensuite bathroom and double bed, one master bedroom with twin beds, a main bathroom with a washing machine, a spacious sitting room and a large well equipped kitchen/diner leading out to a small patio with table & chairs, jasmine & bougainvillea. The house is a 10 minute walk from the town centre where fine restaurants can be found either side of the River Gilao. A Roman bridge spans the river which flows through the centre of the town past palm-shaded waterfront gardens.The old market building, now an exhibition centre with cafes and shops is situated here also. The railway station another 10 minutes walk from the house, will enable you to travel the length of the Algarve and north to Lisbon. The town is separated from the sea by the island of Tavira. 11 kilometres of white sand beaches reached by a ferry from the quay, near the fine old market building in the centre of the town., during the summer. The island has several bars & restaurants for your refreshment. Tavira is one of the oldest towns on the Algarve with its narrow cobbled streets, a hilltop castle and 25 churches. The whole of the coast in this area is part of the Reserva Natural da Ria Formosa, a haven for marsh & sea birds, including flamingos. Tavira is about 30 minutes drive from Faro airport. Spain is only a half hours drive to the east and Seville can be reached in about 2 hours. This is the real Portugal, the people are warm & friendly and very honest. Chale de Vale is a delightful wooden chalet comprising a double bedroom, shower/wc and kitchen/diner/lounge. The kitchen is complete with fridge, microwave and two burner stove. The dining area has a lovely table and chairs and the lounge has a small double sofa bed, radio/CD and a TV and video player. There is also an iron and ironing board in the chalet and guests have the use of a washing machine should this be required. There is a lovely decking area by the front door complete with outside table and chairs. The swimming pool has loungers around it and is rarely used by the owners who live in the main house so is yours to use at any time day or night! There are mature plants and shrubs around the chalet giving it its own private garden. Chale de Vale has its own entrance to the rear with parking by the side. The local village shop (and bar) is about 5 minutes' walk, the nearest restaurants are up to 10 minutes away by car - into Messines in the one direction and along the main Messines/Albufeira road in the other. With views of the swimming pool, tennis court and the sea, this studio apartment can accommodate up to 6 people. Although we wouldn't recommend it for 6 adults, a family can certainly have a good holiday at a very reasonable price. The bathroom is off the studio's entrance hall and is big enough to swing the proverbial cat if you should want to do so! It has a bath with a shower, basin, toilet and bidet. At the end of the hallway is the main room. The kitchen area backs onto the bathroom and is complete with 2-ring electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge, ample cupboard space with crockery and cutlery for 6 people. The dining table has 4 chairs, and the balcony has an outside table and 2 chairs. Studio Lynmar has a brand new sofa which opens out into a double bed. There are 2 other small sofa chairs which open out into 4-foot beds - comfortable for 1 adult each or 2 smaller children. For those not wanting to wander far, the Silchoro is complete with bar, coffee shop, restaurant, TV lounge (satellite TV), games room (pool and air hockey), ice cream shop, mini market, both adult and children's swimming pools, tennis court, supermarket, cafe, bar and nightly entertainment including quiz nights, live music and karaoke. So, there is no need for a hire car at Studio Lynmar unless you wish to explore other parts of the Algarve, as so much is within easy walking distance - particularly the beach and The Strip, with is a popular haunt of holidaymakers with its bars, restaurants and nightlife. For those brave enough to watch, the bullring is also not far away. All in all, Studio Lynmar is ideally situated for a really great holiday for just a single person or the whole family - at a very reasonable rate. | ||

The cottage has been lovingly restored and comprises an L-shaped kitchen/living/diner and a small hallway leading to shower/wc and the bedroom. The front door leads into the kitchen area, which is complete with cooker, microwave, fridge and a coffee machine. The table seats 4 people comfortably, and the cottage has crockery and cutlery for 4 people. The lounge area is a relaxing room with a sofa which opens out into a bed. There is a satellite television here and if you come during the winter you'll be pleased to know that there is a wood-burning stove as well. The owners have plenty of logs so provide these for winter guests at no extra charge. The bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Casa Amoreira has a barbeque, table and chairs outside by the staircase to the roof terrace. From this terrace you can see for miles all round - and the hills and countryside are beautiful and peaceful! A well kept rock garden surrounds the cottage and a parking space is provided. Casa Amoreira is situated in a hamlet called Espargal, just 5 minutes from the nearest shop in Alto Fica, and 15 minutes from a good supermarket in Benafim. Benafim also has a very good baker, heath centre and pharmacy. In different directions from the cottage are a number of restaurants, cafes and bars. The nearest cafe/bar is just 5 minutes away. Having said that, the owners of Quinta da Amoreira bake bread themselves in their own bread ovens and offer guests and local visitors the opportunity of joining them for a day and learning how to light the bread oven, prepare the dough and make the bread - both traditional and sweet breads, and then - the best bit - tasking the bread and a choice. The other speciality of the owners is evening meals. The room where the bread oven is, doubles as a small restaurant. Some Saturday or Sunday evenings the owners host a dinner. A party of 4 or 6 people book to come and the owners, having cooked the meal, sit and eat with the party. These dinners are only upon request and are very reasonably priced. There is no bar here so diners bring their own refreshments - this means that if you're staying at the cottage you won't be disturbed by rowdy diners. The other side of the coin is that provided there are 4 in the cottage you can book the restaurant, take your own drink and as you don't have to drive you can be rowdy!!! This restaurant is not widely advertised, it is just an occasional pleasure in which the owners like to indulge. Amongst the hills are the towns of Loulé, Alte, Messines and Silves, all of which are full of history and local charm. Just driving around the hills offers ample opportunity to explore and appreciate the beauty of the countryside and the gentle pace of life existing away from the hustle and bustle of the coast and the tourist resorts. Further down toward and along the coast are the more popular tourist attractions - including Krazy World - which boasts a great swimming pool with a couple of shallow pools for very small children, extremely krazy golf, a zoo, pony rides, a children's funfair and those really great trampolines where you bounce sky high but are safely harnessed. There are numerous water parks with swimming pools and their own spectacular slides. Zoomarine is over towards Albufeira and is another superb day out. | ||

Casa do Moinho is a lovely spacious 3-bedroomed villa with a great garden for children to play in - complete with car tyres hanging from branches! It has plenty of parking space as well as a car port. You can enter the villa either from the car port or up the impressive staircase to the front door and large balcony. Through the front door you enter the living area. This is open plan and comprises kitchen, dining area and sitting room. The house has an enclosed log fire for those chilly winter nights. There is also a cloakroom and utility room on this level. At the back of the house, leading from the dining area and the sitting room, is a balcony the length of the house. There is a set of table and chairs here with a barbecue at the far end. From here there are some wonderful view of the surrounding countryside A wrought iron spiral staircase takes you down to the bedroom level. The top of the staircase is protected by railings and a child gate. On this lower lever we find two master bedrooms and a twin bedroom. The first master bedroom has a double bed and full ensuite bathroom. The second master bedroom also has a double bed and a shower/wc. There is another shower/wc next to the twin bedroom. Both the master bedrooms open onto a patio to the rear of the villa. All three bedrooms lead off the spacious hallway with the spiral staircase and a door leading to the car port. Casa do Moinho has a plunge pool in the garden. Originally intended as a jaccuzzi, there is a seat all around at a depth of half a metre. The footwell is another half metre below, giving an total depth of one metre. The pool is 3.5 x 3 metres in diameter. Going up a couple of steps from the pool area is a patio with a set of sun loungers and another barbecue. Up another couple of steps is a covered patio with table and chairs, offering shading from the sun at the height of the summer days. Built on an incline, the most glorious views are visible from just about everywhere in the house and garden. This is definitely the house if you don't like noisy neighbours! The towns of Alte, Messines and Silves, all of which are full of history and local charm, are all within easy reach. Just driving around the hills offers ample opportunity to explore and appreciate the beauty of the countryside and the gentle pace of life existing away from the hustle and bustle of the coast and the tourist resorts. There are loads of great restaurants and cafes all around the hills providing iinexpensive food and wine. The town of Sao Bartolomeu de Messines is only a ten minute drive whilst the medieval town of Silves is fifteen minutes in the opposite direction. It is also a mere 10/15 minutes from the coast and around the same to some of the many excellent golf courses here on the Algarve. All this makes the cottage ideal for golfers and also for families on a budget. The cottage itself comprises two bedroom, living room and kitchen/diner. The front door opens into the kitchen/diner. This room is the length of the cottage, with the kitchen at the far end leading out to the rear patio, bbq and pool areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, iron and ironing board. The dining area has dining table and chairs and a fold-up bed for a 5th person, and there is a toilet in to the right of the front door. The master bedroom leads off the left of the front door in the dinng area. This has a double bed and ensuite full bathroom. To the left again nearer the kitchen area, and up two steps, is the living room. Here we find a comfortable sofa, TV, video, hi fi with CD and cassette player, and a wood burning stove for those colder winter evenings. Leading from here is bedroom 2 with twin beds and an ensuite shower room. Patio doors lead from here to the rear of the cottage. The pool is approximately 4 feet deep and is ideal for relaxing in on those hot summer days and evenings. Loungers are around the pool, as well as an outside table and bench chairs under the covered area by bedroom 2. A couple of steps take us down to the second patio where there is another table and chairs by the side of the barbecue. This is a great cottage and is well situated for just above everything you could want for your holiday - or for a longer term rental over the winter. Silves has a host of shops and supermarkets (particularly Lidl and Modelo) and some really great cuisine is available at the large number of restaurants and cafes here as well as international cuisine as can be found at the Cafe Ingles - this has live music most weekends! Horse riding is available 10 minutes away; there are mountain bike trails in the area around the cottage; scuba diving is available down at Carvoeiro; a canoeing centre is 5 minutes away; thermal baths are available at Monchique (20 minutes); and there are a host of children's parks - Krazy World, Zoomarine, Slide n' Splash, Aqualand all around. On the other hand you can of course sit around your own pool and relax - and we can arrange a massage or beauty treatment lady to come to you at the cottage! Local buses, two minutes walk from the apartment, take you into the town, or it is just a ten minute gentle walk. Lagos was where Henry the Navigator had his ships built during Portugal's most illustrious period, the 15th-century. Today its seafaring traditions are maintained in a modern marina frequented by luxury boats, the entrance of which is guarded by the little Forte da Porta da Bandeira opposite a restored section of the ancient town wall. The centre of Lagos is largely pedestrianised and therefore walking is free and easy whether browsing the shops or sitting in the many outside cafes in the squares. Close to the apartment are several beautiful beaches like Porto de Mos (1000m) ten minutes walk away, Praia da Dona Ana (1500m) and Ponta da Piedade (2000m) with its spectacular rock formation and coves. The swimming pool is 16m x 8m pool and is at times heated. There is an outside poolbar where you can relax after swimming or training, together with gardens, terrace and sun loungers. The villa was built in 1996 in a traditional Algarve style and is spacious both inside and out. With 1 double and 4 twin bedrooms, 3 ensuite shower/wc and 1 full bathroom, this villa can comfortably accommodate 10 people. Villa Golfinho has a large lounge/diner with a log fire for those cooler winter evenings, lovely comfortable settees and a family sized dining table. This lovely family room is also equipped with cassette player, CD, radio, stereo system and satellite television. The kitchen is well equipped with a combined gas and electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and dish washer. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and three upstairs with a large balcony/terrace which catches the sun all day. The swimming pool, is surrounded by terrace and grass as well as mature shrubs and trees, all working together to provide a beautiful and calming surrounding for your holiday. Outside table, chairs and loungers are provided and there are even a few beach chairs! Maid service is provided once a week but if you'd like this service more often it can be arranged. All linen is provided as are towels, except that guests are asked to bring their own swimming and beach towels. Guests are asked to respect that this villa is a non-smoking villa, and smoke outside only. Going into the hills are the towns of Loulé, Alte, Messines and Silves, all of which are full of history and local charm. Just driving around the hills offers ample opportunity to explore and appreciate the beauty of the countryside and the gentle pace of life existing away from the hustle and bustle of the coast and the tourist resorts. There are loads of great restaurants and cafes all around the hills providing iinexpensive food and wine. Not too far away is KrazyWorld - which boasts a great swimming pool with a couple of shallow pools for very small children, extremely krazy golf, a zoo, pony rides, a children's funfair and those really great trampolines where you bounce sky high but are safely harnessed. Aqualand (formerly The Big One) and Slide 'n Splash are also within very easy reach, as is Zoomarine which offers a spectacular day out - and of course the beach and sea and all the highlights of Albufeira! | ||
