The cottage is set in a large lawned garden complete with a barbecue and picnic table. The cottage makes an ideal centre for a relaxing or active holiday as it is situated within the Snowdonia National Park, at the foot of Snowdon yet only 8 miles from the coast and 1 mile from the Beddgelert Forest. You can walk, bike ride, horse ride, climb, canoe, play golf fish or just relax. There is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a small single bedroom. The bathroom has an over bath shower and a full bathroom suite. We have a fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, electric cooker, microwave, washing machine/drier and table and chairs. In the lounge there is a 3-piece suite and colour TV (Sky). During the winter lets the cost of the heating is included in the hire charge. To the rear of the cottage is a small conservatory There is ample on street parking outside the cottage and a new car park close by. We supply all the bedding and bed linen. The cottage is set in a stunning location, with grounds down to the Afon Glaslyn and bounded to the south by the tumbling waterfall of the Afon Goch. The accommodation consists of an Entrance Hall, leading to a large open plan Living Room with a slate and tiled floor, wood-burning stove, satellite television and comfy settees, one of which converts to a double bed. The galleried Bedroom overlooks the living area and is reached by an open-plan staircase. This is a double bedded room, with bed linen, Teasmaid and hairdryer provided. A single folding bed is available (on request). The well-equipped open plan Kitchen area, has a built-in oven, hob, washing machine, refrigerator and freezer. A microwave oven, together with kettle and toaster are provided. The Bathroom comprises bath with shower attachment, basin and toilet. Towels are provided together with a hair dryer. Situated in Beddgelert, Si Yr Afon is one of a row of listed cottages at the foot of Snowdon, and built on the banks of the River Glaslyn. Si Yr Afon was built in 1841 as a meeting place and today provides family holiday accommodation for up to 6 people. Inside is a large open plan lounge/diner with exposed beams, stone fireplace & open coal fire, sofa & easy chairs, dining area and television. French doors look out over a patio, a lower slate-paved area, the river, and the mountains. There is also a separate sitting room, with another television, comfy seating and outlook to the river. The fully equipped kitchen includes a fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, full-size electric cooker, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. There is plenty of storage, and all culinary equipment and kitchen essentials. Kitchen cleaning equipment is provided, including tea towels. Upstairs are three bedrooms. One bedroom has two single beds, and looks out over a row of cottages built for copper miners in the 1830s. The other two bedrooms both have double beds, and spectacular views over the river and mountains. There are two shower rooms, both with toilet, washbasin, and electric shower. Si Yr Afon means Murmur of the River and is built on the River Glaslyn. A French door from the lounge/diner leads onto a patio which overlooks the river.
