It is set in the tranquil Sligo countryside some 8 miles from Sligo town and just outside the picturesque village of Collooney on the banks of the Owenmore river. This handsome Georgian House set in 8 acres of parkland is the home of Jeremy and Dorothy Bird. They are a friendly and welcoming couple who make every effort to ensure their guests are well looked after. Dorothy specializes in an exciting evening menu featuring local produce and home grown organic vegetables. To complement this there is an exciting and unusual selection of wines. Accommodation at Glebe House maintains the same high standards. Anglers are especially welcome and will be delighted to find that bordering the meadows which surround Glebe House is the Owenmore River where Brown Trout jump for Mayfly. The Owenmore flows into the Ballisadare River world famous for its Salmon fishing at Collooney. Many activities and sites are nearby locally including beautiful walks, the Ox Mountains, Golf Courses, uncrowded beaches, horse riding and water sports. Of particular note are the many nearby archaeological sites including Queen Maeve’s Tomb and Carromore Megalithic Cemetery.
