There are excellent links with the huge range of facilities in the area. It is the perfect place for sports, relaxing and site seeing. Run by a French speaking English couple with 15 years experience of the area. It is only a few minutes from the shores of the Lake and numerous sights are just a stones throw away, with old churches, chateaux, and historic buildings in the mountains around the lake. The village of Doussard offers a well-stocked supermarket, charcuterie, baker, a bank, a tabac, Auberge de Marie and Bar des Quatre Chemins, all within walking distance from Maison Shanti. Maison Shanti is convenient by car for the old town of Annecy itself, with its picturesque canals, buzzing restaurants, stylish bars and relaxed shopping. The house is also only a short car ride away from skiing, including resorts like La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand, Les Saisies, Crest-Voland and Megève. Albertville, Chamonix and Mont Blanc are all reachable by car. The nearby lake and mountains offer a fantastic range of outdoor activities including Bird Watching, Climbing, Cycling, Fishing, Golf, Horse Riding, Sailing, Scuba Diving, Skiing, Tennis, Walking, Water Sports. Maison Shanti is a chalet style house on one level with a 1500 m2 private garden, landscaped with fruit trees, electric gate, driveway with additional parking and garage. The house has a large terrace with outdoor furniture and a BBQ for outdoor eating and entertaining. The location is very quiet and secure for children to play within the garden area. The secure garage is next to the house, accessible from the driveway, equipped with a washing machine offering plenty of storage space for outdoor- and sports equipment. Maison Shanti comprises of 100 m2 living space, three bedrooms, bedroom 1 with double bed, bedroom 2 with double bed, bedroom 3 with one bunk bed and one single bed, open plan dining/living area leading to garden through three French windows, dining table seating 9, sofa unit and armchair seating 7, TV, video, Stereo, fully fitted kitchen includes an oven/grill and hob, fridge freezer, microwave oven and dishwasher, a bathroom and a separate toilet. The house has been redecorated in May 2003 and has a bright feel to it with a tasteful blend of rustic and modern quality furnishing. Water, electricity and bedlinen are included for weekly rentals. Utility cost for long rentals by agreement. Main airports for the region: Geneva airport: about 50km, 45 min., Lyon airport: about 100km, 1hour 15 min., Chambery airport: about 40km, 45 min., Grenoble airport: about 100km, 1hour 30 min. serviced by major and low cost airlines including Easyjet and Ryanair.
