Breakfast is served in dining room or the conservatory overlooking the garden where you can watch the many different birds that come to the nut feeders nearby.

There's much to see and do while you are on holiday with plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, watersports and more. There are many local crafts, potteries, art galleries and exhibitions can be visited throughout the area.

Gardens
The gardens at Threave Castle (just outside Castle Douglas) are open all year and are marvellous at any time. The variety of plants, trees and shrubs and the mild climate of the Gulf Stream in this part of Scotland make it a must to visit. There are many more gardens to visit in Dumfries & Galloway.

Birdwatching
Lots of different habitats around the area including broadleaf woodland and forests, lochs and cliffs. Thousands of Barnacle Geese fly here for the winter which is a wonderful sight.

Rosemount is situated in the picturesque sailing village of Kippford. Our seafront position provides stunning views across the Urr Estuary to the hills of Bengairn and Screel. Guests can enjoy magnificent views of the yachts and boats as they sail past our front door.

We offer twin bedded en-suite rooms at the front of the house with superb views over the water, double bedded rooms one with en-suite shower and the second with a luxury refurbished private bathroom and a family room comprising of double and bunk beds with an en-suite shower room, also equipped with a TV/video, wet weather children's games (for those occasional rainy days).

We also welcome small well behaved dogs (by prior agreement) in the family room. All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities.

Coastal and woodland walks are literally on the doorstep, with the scenic Victorian Jubilee path starting in Kippford, with a gentle walk to Rockcliffe where you can stop for tea and for the more adventurous the coastal path will take you all the way to Sandyhills.

We are only 5 minutes by car from the world renowned 7 Stanes mountain bike trail at Dalbeattie. We have secure bike storage, bike cleaning and repair area and clothes drying facilities. Bike hire and repair centres are all close at hand.

The area boasts an abundance of wonderful gardens, with the National Trust Threave Gardens and Castle being particularly spectacular throughout all seasons.

Within the immediate locality there are a number of Golf courses for players of all abilities. We have a nine-hole course in the village, Colvend Golf course is a 10 minute drive away and the championship 18 hole course at Southerness is approximately 15 minutes by car.
