It is heavily beamed throughout, though not too low! With its log fires, old newel staircase and original brick floors, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. In 1967 Ronald Blythe wrote his book Akenfield. A documentary of village life in Suffolk, which was then to become a BBC2 TV series. This book was written in one of our en suite bedrooms, which was then Ronald’s study. Set in one acre of informal grassed gardens with two large ponds, complete with ducks and moorhen, it’s an ideal spot to gaze over the meadows in a thoughtful moment, either before breakfast, or on return from your day of walking or sightseeing. | ||
