As only six people are catered for at any time guests can expect to receive a high standard of service, coupled with home cooking. Both English and Continental breakfast are served each morning with a good range of choices available for all tastes/diets. Albert Street remains one of Durham’s most architecturally interesting and originally preserved streets. It lies just off the busy shopping area of North Road, which in turn leads to the river banks and market square. Historical sites, notably the cathedral and castle, are only a ten to fifteen minute walk away, and the Botanical Gardens, Durham Light Infantry and Oriental Museums are easily accessible by foot. Durham makes an excellent base for exploring the surrounding National Parks. Northumbria, the North Yorkshire Moors, and Weardale and Teesdale to the west which are all excellent areas for walking, and easily accessible by either car or public transport.
