The market town of Glossop is surrounded on three sides by the Peak District National Park and is easily reached by road and rail, combining the convenience of easy access from major towns and cities with all the attractions of the Peak District National Park.

Local attractions include the medival village of Old Glossop with its 12th Century Cross, the picturesque Longdendale Valley with its 5 reservoirs and the Longdendale Trail.

Avondale is a stone house with many period features. It comprises internal double and twin rooms, which share a period bathroom with a shower and Victorian cast iron bath with claw feet. The two private outside rooms also comprise double and twin accommodation each having their own separate entrances (see picture on web page) and full en suite facilities.

Private off road parking is available.

A good home cooked Full English Breakfast is served in the feature dining room which has a traditional black range fire place and a conservatory balcony from which you have magnificient views of the Peak District. Cosy cottage on the edge of the Peak District

Birchinlee is a traditional terraced cottage in the village of Whitfield, near Glossop in Derbyshire. The northern Peak District National Park boundary is less than a mile away. Originally part of the estates of the Duke of Norfolk, the cottage is now owned by a friend who has recently completely renovated and re-furbished it while keeping most of the original features. The house (pronounced 'Birkinlee') is named after the lost village built by the navvies who worked to create the nearby Ladybower reservoir. There are two bedrooms, one a double and one a small twin suitable for children making the cottage ideal for a family wishing to explore the surrounding area. The property is no smoking, and pets are not allowed.
