Inverness is the bustling capital of the Highlands with many musical and cultural events taking place throughout the year including the Highland Games and Inverness Tattoo. As well as visiting the shops, restaurants, museum, art gallery, theatre, sports facilities, etc., you can also take boat trips to spot the monster on nearby Loch Ness or to see dolphins in the Moray Firth.

The Scottish Highlands are sprinkled with castles and you are spoilt for choice around Inverness with Cawdor, Brodie and Urquhart all open to the public and just a short drive or bus ride from the city. Only 2 hours away is the famously picturesque Eilean Donan Castle which is well worth a trip to the west coast.

A very warm Highland welcome awaits you at our traditional 19th century farmhouse looking over Nairn Valley towards Culloden Moor, just 8 miles from Inverness.

Enjoy home-baking and a full Scottish breakfast. Relax in the guest sitting room where a log fire burns on cooler evenings.

Our comfortable accommodation consists of 1 family bedroom and 1 twin room. Hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities are provided in the rooms and all beds have electric blankets.

Balaggan Farm has a herd of breeding cows, with crops grown for winter feed.

We are situated close to the mysterious Clava Cairns and standing stones, built in prehistoric times. Also nearby is the famous Culloden Battlefield where Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated in 1746.

Balaggan Farm is an ideal base for exploring the local scenery and touring historic sights.

Cawdor Castle is another favourite close by and is well worth a visit for its gardens and woodland walks, as well as its beautiful interior. Nearby Brodie Castle also has lovely grounds and splendid rooms open to the public.

Inverness, Capital of the Scottish Highlands is just 8 miles from Balaggan Farm. Many special events take place throughout the year including the Highland Games, Inverness Tattoo and music festivals. You can visit the castle, art gallery, museum and cathedral. The city has a good selection of shops and restaurants.

No visit to the Highlands is complete without a trip to Loch Ness. Take a cruise and see if you can spot the monster or discover the pretty villages of Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus with a stop at the ruins of Urquhart Castle.

In less than 2 hours you can be on the west coast, or to the east, the famous Whisky Trail is also within easy driving distance. You'll be spoilt for choice as to where to go!

Dunlichity House is set in 12 acres with large stocked Trout/Salmon Lochans (small lochs). Incorporating many traditional Scottish features the house nestles between forest and lochans, on a raised knoll at the end of its' own private drive. Glen Islay is a haven of peace and tranquillity which has gained an excellent reputation not only for its warm friendly atmosphere, but also for the quality displayed in its public rooms and bedrooms, where particular attention has been paid to the choice of furnishings and decor, with the aim of achieving a unique ambience in each room.

Close to the city centre and shopping precinct, Glen Islay B&B is just a few minutes walk from Inverness Castle, Eden Court Theatre, River Ness & island walks, Ice Rink, Inverness Aquadome and Sports Centre.

Calona is approximately 200 years old and has been completely renovated during the last 15 years. It was originally a cottage for workers at the mill in this area and the millburn (stream) still runs past our house.
Calona looks out across Inverness Golf Course towards the hills. We are just 10 minutes walk from the city centre shops and River Ness, and 5 minutes walk from Raigmore hospital.

The Blue Room is a family room with a double bed, a single bed and ensuite facilities. It has views over the golf course towards the hills.
The Green Room is slightly smaller with a double bed, ensuite facilities and views over the golf course.
The Peach Room is a family room with a double bed, a single bed and a private bathroom.

All bedrooms have tea/coffee making facilities, TV and radio alarm. A hairdryer, iron and ironing facilities are available on request. The house is centrally heated.

The dining room is also situated on the ground floor and has views over the golf course towards the hills.

Built in 1836, Ryeford is a Victorian town house which has been renovated and upgraded with your comfort in mind. Close to the city centre, but in a quiet location, this family-run 4 Star Guest House is less than 5 minutes walk to the shops, coach and train station.

Logan Cottage is also very convenient for Eden Court Theatre (just 2 minutes away) where you can book seats to see a film, play or concert depending on the programme.
Guests can walk to the Caledonian Canal where boat trips depart for a cruise on Loch Ness. There is also easy access to the A82 road for those wishing to drive around Loch Ness.

We offer B&B accommodation in 2 bedrooms which have been fully refurbished with good quality furniture and fittings. Each bedroom has a TV, DVD player (with a choice of up to 50 films), mini fridge, hairdryer, mirror, tea/coffee making facilities, electric blanket, cool air fan, bedside lights, etc.
