The ambiance of our 3 day breaks at Kinlochfollart is of a Highland house party - with guests and hosts sharing their interests. The house is situated in extensive grounds on the shores of Loch Dunvegan about a mile from the village.

We invite you to spend 3 days/4 nights (Monday - Thursday inclusive) at Kinlochfollart with the opportunity to unwind and enjoy the peace and diversity of Skye.

From arrival on Monday tea-time until departure on Friday morning, the cost is £250 per person including:

• dinner
• bed & breakfast
• picnic lunch
• afternoon tea in the conservatory
• and laundry service daily.

A personally-crafted tour programme / journey itinerary to and from Skye can be discussed prior to your arrival if you wish. Make the journey part of your holiday.

We offer comfortable beds, fresh flowers, local produce and homemade breads. All rooms have loch and hill views. No smoking.

Built in 1863, our house was the Church of Scotland manse, it became our family home in 1984. Guests are welcome to make use of the facilities of the house, e.g. conservatory, library and sitting room with log fires in season. We have an extensive collection of books, maps and papers about our locality, its colourful history and clan associations.

Dunvegan Castle with its lovely gardens is nearby - home of the Chiefs of the Clan MacLeod since the 13th century.

Foxwood is a house of character, completed in October 2002. It stands in 4 acres of land surrounded by inspirational countryside, a blend of mountains and moorland, sea and islands, green fields with sheep and cattle.

The house has a magnificent view of the Cuillin mountain range to the south, and of Loch Bracadale and MacLeod's Tables to the north-west.

The 2 ensuite twin bedrooms have beautiful views over Loch Bracadale and MacLeod's Tables. They have their own entrance lobby with facilities for making drinks and snacks.

There is also a very comfortable, well furnished double room with tea making facilities, wash hand basin and adjacent private bathroom. This bedroom has a wonderful view of the mountains. All 3 rooms have TV, CD/cassette/radio and hairdryer.

The lounge is spacious, providing room for dancing, music, story-telling, yoga, etc. It can be used for workshops. We have a selection of interesting books to read. There is a magnificent view of the mountains from the main windows, which face south overlooking the partially enclosed patio and pool.

Food is vegetarian and when practical organic. If you normally eat meat you probably won't even notice the lack of it when you see the wide choice available on the breakfast menu. Other meals are available by arrangement. Special dietary needs can be catered for with prior notice.

If your preference is to focus on health, there is exercise equipment, a sauna, jacuzzi, steam cabinet with 15 power jets, and the opportunity to have massage, reflexology and a variety of other alternative therapies from local practitioners (given advance notice).

Eagles, larks and herons fly overhead; the ground is bright with bluebells and primroses in spring, followed by a host of other wild flowers including orchids.

Seals, whales, dolphins and octopus are found in the surrounding waters, and otters can be seen on land or water.

There is a stillness that has to be experienced, and everywhere you may find magic. The sunsets and sunrises can be unbelievable.

Beautifully situated at the head of Loch Greshornish with far reaching views over sea and mountain, Shorefield is an ideal base for touring the Isle of Skye. Just 15 minutes' drive from Portree and 8 miles east of Dunvegan Castle.

Our guest house has family, double, twin and single rooms with en suite facilities. Lounge with TV, books and games. The garden has a play area for children.

Packed lunches are available and special dietary requirements are catered for where possible.

The village has a small shop and two hotels with licensed restaurants, all within easy walking distance of Shorefield House.

We can accommodate disabled guests and have been awarded category 1 status by the tourist board (unassisted wheelchair access).

Edinbane is situated at the end of a peaceful sea loch. This beautiful old stone village is ideally located on the main road which runs around Skye, making it an ideal base for touring the island.

Our guest accommodation comprises 2 double rooms and 1 twin room. All rooms have full ensuite facilities with large shower, king sized bed in double rooms and, as all bedrooms are to the front, uninterrupted views across Loch Greshornish to the Western Isles.

For you convenience we also provide in each bedroom Tea/coffee making facilities, biscuits, TV with DVD player, hairdryer, clock radio, and even binoculars so you may see that elusive otter or seal at the water's edge!

The house is fully centrally heated with guest rooms having panel heaters with personal control.

At the side of the property, guests are welcome to use our sun porch which contains a selection of books and games. The sun porch and all the guest bedrooms command magnificent views over the loch.

Situated in the small crofting township of Kildonan (a settlement of just 15 or so homes) the house offers peace and tranquility to those who seek it.

We are approximately 10 miles north of Portree and 10 miles south of Dunvegan. Ideal tour exploring in all directions!

Druimgorm is an extremely well equipped and tastefully decorated Victorian villa. It is only minutes walk from the shoreline, the harbour, and the centre of the village, where there are excellent local shops, traditional pubs and restaurants.

The rooms at the front of the house and the gardens offer marvelously clear, uninterrupted views across Loch Portree to the majestic and famous Cuillin mountain range.

ACCOMMODATION:

Ground Floor: Front entrance with original paneling and floor tiling. All flooring is Bornean Teak. Drawing room with open coal fire, colour TV, VCR (and a multitude of excellent videos) and hi-fi.

Dining room with open log fire and seating for 12, with large double doors leading to the kitchen that has seating for a further 4 people.

The kitchen is newly fitted with integral fridge, micro-wave, dishwasher, electric hob and oven. There is also a pantry with a deep freeze and a second fridge. Laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier, large sink and clothes pulley. Shower room with wc and adjacent large boot and rod room.

First Floor: 2 large double bedrooms with wash hand basins, one small room/nursery with a cot and Corrie our very large wooden rocking horse.
1 twin bedroom with wash hand basin and 1 double bedroom, bathroom.

Second Floor: Very large double bedroom with additional set of bunk beds.
Large room with 2 sets of bunk beds, wash hand basin, TV and numerous children's games.

The dining room and drawing room both have open fires. Oil central heating is installed. All fuel is included in the rental. Linen and towels are provided.

This comfortable, well appointed, newly built 3-bedroom cottage sits in the beautiful region of Trotternish overlooking the sea to the front and with the dramatic Quiraing mountains to the rear.

Gaelic for 'The Barn on the Hill', Cnoc An T-Sabhail is situated in the peaceful crofting township of Digg near Staffin on the north-east coast of Skye, some 20 miles north of Portree.

Location
There are 2 grocery stores within a few miles of the cottage, as well as 2 hotels where you can enjoy an evening meal. Further facilities can be found at Portree (20 miles) which has pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, post office, cinema, etc.

The Trotternish area is where fossils and even dinosaur footprints have been found, so a visit to the nearby Fossil Museum can be quite an eye-opener! The geology of the region can be admired at sites such as the Mealt Waterfall and Kilt Rock where the waterfall drops 300 feet into the sea. The very photogenic 'Old Man of Storr' is a 160 ft pillar which dominates the landscape overlooking Loch Fada.

The Quiraing mountains with their strange formations of pinnacles and pillars are very different from the Cuillin hills in the south of Skye. If you are not the mountaineering sort, then take the little road which cuts through the peninsula from Staffin to Uig and you will experience a spectacular drive right through the Quiraing.

Historic sights include the ruins of Duntulm Castle (abandoned around 1730 by the MacDonalds) from where you can see across the Minch to the Hebrides on a clear day. The Skye Museum of Island Life at Kilmuir is a group of thatched cottages and an old smithy illustrating Highland life 100 years ago. Nearby is the grave of Flora MacDonald who is said to have been buried in a sheet slept in by Bonnie Prince Charlie.

You'll find much else to explore on Skye including Dunvegan Castle, the Talisker Distillery, the Toy Museum, craft shops, galleries, etc. Boat trips are available from numerous places including Staffin Bay and for a day trip to Uist or Harris you can take the ferry from Uig (10 miles from the cottage).
