Interesting residents include a potter and a healer. The ancient ruins of Harbottle castle, built to strengthen the Border defences, overlooks the Reivers Way along the Coquet Valley. Harbottles location in central Northumberland and at the foothills of the Cheviots, is a perfect base for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers and just 15 minutes from the popular village of Rothbury. Northumberland National Park offers glimpses of ancient landscapes and wilderness found nowhere else in England. Youll hear the haunting cries of the curlew and, if youre lucky, spot the red squirrel in one of the few places left in England where it survives. Northumberland has a magnificent coastline with wide sandy beaches, quaint villages and dramatic castles. Theres so much to see and do! The Byre Vegetarian B&B offers quality non-smoking accommodation. The house is a unique modern conversion of a 19th century stone-built farm byre. The two Guests Bedrooms at the back of the house are quiet and secluded. Bedroom 1 has a spacious private bathroom with an oval bath, shower unit, basin and toilet. Bedroom 2 has an ensuite. The Guests Dining/Sitting Room, with TV/Video/ Tea and Coffee facilities, is spacious and restful. Local information brochures, walking guides and local maps are kept for our visitors use. A large courtyard, parking area, and an elevated garden are at the rear of the house. All rooms have central heating. | ||
