A stretch of the stunning coastline, which has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, can be seen at the picturesque village of Alnmouth, 7 miles to the east of us. Rothbury, the gateway to the National Park and near to Cragside (a National Trust House and Country Park) is 10 miles to the west. 12 miles to the north of us is the fishing village of Craster, with Seahouses, Bamburgh and Holy Island being a further 10 to 20 miles north. We are halfway between the Scottish border (Berwick-upon-Tweed 35 miles) and Newcastle upon Tyne – the shopping capital of the north. | ||
