Richmond Hill Farm is located on the outskirts of the hamlet of Chiselhampton, within the Oxford Green Belt, just 4 miles south of the city on the B480. Richmond Hill is one of very few elevated areas in South Oxfordshire, offering outstanding views, and was a battle site during the English Civil War when cannons were placed on the hill to defend the river crossing in Chiselhampton. Enclosed amongst woodland on Richmond Hill, The Reservoir really is a converted reservoir which was built years ago to supply drinking water from the well on the farm to the houses in the village. Although you can still enjoy the pure well water which is now provided by more modern methods, The Reservoir now offers roomy and unusual 2 storey accommodation for 4 people with the bedrooms partly underground and the living area on the first floor. On the first floor is a light, spacious and fully equipped kitchen and dining area with a dining table and breakfast bar, leading through to a separate living room with views to the front and rear of the property. The living room has comfortable seating and colour TV / DVD player. Broadband is included and the telephone is there for your use with honesty box! From the kitchen area, stairs lead down to the ground floor where the walls which were built to take the load of thousands of gallons of water are over 2 feet thick. This level of the property is partly subterranean and so the rooms are quiet, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There are 2 double bedrooms and a fully tiled WC/ shower room. A door leads out to a porch and the lower parking area. From the kitchen / dining area fully glazed double doors open on to a large elevated deck where you can enjoy the outdoor furniture in the peace and privacy of the wooded gardens. A few steps down from the decking lead to the upper garden areas and parking. The Reservoir is fully double glazed with gas central heating in all the rooms and there is constant hot water provided by the gas combi-boiler. There is a gas cooking hob with electric oven, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. Richmond Hill Farm is a working agricultural business with a mixture of arable, conservation and countryside stewardship areas. There are miles of walks on and from the farm and the city of Oxford is a short drive away. The 15th Century Coach and Horses in Chiselhampton has a very good restaurant and you can easily walk there from The Reservoir. A mile away is the village of Stadhampton where there is a local shop and petrol station. The Crown public house, here, also has a Chinese takeaway and the popular Crazy Bear Hotel offers both Thai Brasserie and a la carte dining.
