You can bathe in the history of Prestatyn and wander around the many Castles in the North Wales area. Prestatyn is a wide north facing sandy beach with rock groynes, a long split level promenade runs the whole length of the beach heading towards Rhyl, Abergele, Llandudno and beyond. You are now able to cycle the full length of the promenade by way of a safe cycle path. We are within 10 miles of 8 excellent golf courses, of which Prestatyn Golf Links is of Championship status. For the discerning golfer we at H.Q. offer Golfing Mini Breaks with transport to and from any Golf Course you choose, details available on request. And of course for the shopper and bargain hunter, there are many markets dotted around the coast. Real ales and a variety of beers and spirits are served in both the main lounge and the cosy "back bar". In "The Red" you will enjoy a genuine welcome in the ambience of a traditional and unspoilt pub. An excellent wine list complements "The Red's" new dining area "The Garden Lounge". You will find "The Red" on the outskirts of the village of Meliden next to the 12th. Century Parish Church. Excellent parking is available at the front of the pub and to the rear the generous gardens and patio provide a pleasant environment for a summer's drink. "The Garden Lounge" is a recent addition at "The Red" very much in keeping with the pub's reputation for traditional hospitality. The spacious, beamed dining area overlooks our garden and patio and has a timber decked verandah. Our window tables enjoy views across Meliden towards Graig Fawr and the sea. A full a la carte menu is available at lunchtimes and evenings every day of the week. Diners can enjoy excellent food and wine at reasonable prices, in comfortable and relaxing surroundings. The surrounding area provides some beautiful countryside. A walk up Graig Fawr rewards you with panoramic views of the North Wales Coast. Visit the nearby Dyserth waterfall or stroll down a countryside trail to Prestatyn with its long sandy beach and promenade. A little further afield are the famous castles of Conwy, Caernarfon and Beaumaris, the mountains and lakes of the Snowdonia National Park, and the Blue Flag beaches of Anglesey. The Roman City of Chester, famous for its heritage attractions and shopping, is less than an hour's drive away. Many of our visitors will enjoy the fine selection of golf courses in the area. St.Melyd Golf Course is a testing parkland course just five minutes walk from "The Red". Prestatyn Golf Club is under two miles away and has a fine championship links.
