Situated just on the edge of this unspoilt Cornish Village. On one side there are fields, on the other side shops, restaurants (including a Meadery) and several fine old pubs of character. We are very easy to find - being on the B3277 road and the first house on the right after passing the St Agnes Village sign. There is a beautiful dining room with high moulded ceiling and portraits; a lovely bright lounge with easy chairs, colour TV, video, piano and log fires in the winter. We have a liquor licence, but no actual bar. There is a large lawned garden for guests to use where tea and drinks (including alcoholic) can be served. All bedrooms have wash basins, colour TV, tea making facilities, electric heaters and shaver points. There are family, twin, double and a en suite if required and also a attractive bed-sit. In addition there are two bathrooms and a large shower room. Guests are most welcome to use their bedrooms during the day to rest, eat snacks and make hot drinks! The home cooking is superb - offering 'real' food with fresh local produce including vegetables and fish, traditional roasts, home made fruit tarts and for a complete change curries and pasta dishes. We hold the Certificate of Hygiene. We offer reduced terms for children sharing parents rooms, and for long stays. Dinner, cream teas, lunch and snacks are available. There is a pay-phone for guests 'use, and we have ample parking. Penkerris has a pleasant informal atmosphere, where guests feel relaxed and at ease. | ||

Sleeps 2 - Low = £295 - High = £374 Grade 2 listed cottage set off the road at the end of a picturesque row of thatched cottages, Castaway itself is a delightful 300-year-old miner's cottage and is located in Goonbell just on the outskirts of the village. It has many traditional Cornish features such as thick cob walls, beamed ceilings and wooden floors, but has all the comforts of home. There is also a lovely, quiet and secluded Mediterranean-style garden. There is also a sundeck, which as well as providing a sheltered spot to relax in the sun, is also a great place to have a barbeque whilst watching the sunset over St Agnes beacon.St Agnes is a thriving village on the North Coast of Cornwall and is very popular with visitors. It has several pubs and restaurants along with shops and art and craft galleries, all of which are within easy walking distance from Castaway Cottage. St Agnes also has three beaches, two of which are ideal for families (toilets and cafes close by), whilst Travellas beach is a short walk across the cliff top and is both totally unspoilt and very secluded. Porthtowan and Perranporth are a couple of miles either side of St Agnes and both superb surfing beaches.For those who like walking there are miles of superb coastal footpaths as well as many woodland and valley walks.
