Open all year around including Christmas and New Year From 21 pounds to 30 pounds Cae Gwyn ('White Field') is a working organic sheep farm in the valley of the Rhinog mountain range in Southern Snowdonia, and is an ideal base for all - but especially for mountain bikers and walkers - from which to explore the surrounding mountains and forests. We offer bed and breakfast and camping facilities in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt natural settings, and aim to provide an ecologically-friendly holiday experience in a peaceful environment. Our guests are invited to walk freely around our 190 acre farm, where you may find a hidden picnic spot next to a stream on moss-covered rocks. For mountain bikers, Cae Gwyn offers bike-friendly accommodation and lock-up/bike-washing facilities. As Cae Gwyn borders the Coed-y-Brenin forest and has a direct off-road link to Karrimor and MBR tails, you can leave your car behind and ride out for the day straight from the gate. For walkers, public footpaths cross our land and provide one of the few close access points to the Rhinog mountain range, close to the famous Roman Steps and the Cambrian Way. We have walking itineraries around Cae Gwyn and Trawsfynydd - please ask for more information should you wish to explore locally. Our campsite is also an ideal base for Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditioners, the Scouts, the Guides and other youth groups. We have a discount for participants in large group activities so please ask. Our SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) designated river, Afon Eden is a salmon and native brown trout spawning ground and home to rare and sensitive aquatic life of national importance. We own the fishing rights of a kilometer of the river and your tranquil fishing experience is assured. You may also want to fish in the large lake in Trawsfynydd, the Mawddach river and estuary or the sea at Barmouth. You may also bring your horse with you to new rides and ample pasture. You can camp near your horses or stay in our B&B accommodation (see Tariff for B&B and camping rates). Cae Gwyn can offer you guided treks of mountain woodland (the Rhinog range) and moorland. Or take the specially printed trek maps and hack it yourself. We provide secure parking for horse boxes/trailers and secure storage for tack. Rate per day for pasture is 5 pounds per pony/horse, long stays can be offered at a discounted rate. (Please note that we are unable to offer pony trekking on our own animals at present).
