The seafront is a happy place, much loved year round by local walkers, joggers, cyclists, prampushers, kite flyers, and those enjoying holidays or a day out from Newcastle (10 minutes by car, 20 mins by metro - the station is 3 mins walk). It is interesting to watch the ferries from northern Europe gliding past the historic Tynemouth Priory into the Tyne Estuary between the piers of North Shields and South Shields. Within 3 minutes walking distance are small local shops, hairdressers, a minimarket and an abundance of restaurants and varied takeaways. Cullercoats is easy to reach by car, train, from the airport or via the ferry. Several bus routes are close by and the local metro train is 3 minutes walk giving easy access to Newcastle and the airport. Passenger ferries from Sweden, Norway & Holland dock on the river Tyne, 10 minutes drive away. Some guests find local metro trains and buses so convenient, they don’t need to use the car unless travelling beyond Newcastle. We welcome visitors from abroad and can take calls in French or Spanish – at weekends in French, Spanish, German, Swedish, Portuguese and Italian. Seafront Apartments are self-contained with their own keys sharing a common entrance. Some have sea views. They are fitted with a lounge/diner, kitchen and separate bathroom with bath, shower or both, and 1 or 2 bedrooms to sleep 2 to 6 adults. All are equipped with TV, fridge, microwave, gas cooker, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, iron & ironing board, bedlinen, towels and teatowels. Central heating and lighting is provided free, while meters allow you to control your own gas & electricity. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer and the drying area in the back yard is supplied with a hose for wetsuits. Here there is also plenty room for surfboards and bikes. A pay phone is fitted for outgoing calls. A cot and high chair are available. There is well-lit free parking in front of the apartments. Bookings are from 2 pm Saturday to 10 am Saturday. A deposit of £50 is payable on booking and the balance on arrival, either by cash or cheque. | ||
